Project Description
The Jull Street project involved a variety of diverse building challenges that really tested Kiwibuild NZ’s versatility.
The majority of the building was focused on reworks and refits of two bathrooms.
Downstairs, a spacious walk-in shower was created with a 2m-high tiled wall and upstairs an old bath came out and a new bath complete with tile surround was built along with the installation of a new shower and new external window in keeping with the 1930s bungalow style.
Back downstairs Maurice from Kiwibuild NZ transformed the main lounge area by removing an old stand alone toilet room and sliding doors, then rebuilding the external wall with a new window also in period with the house. Adjacent to the lounge, the kitchen’s floor was repaired and prepared for polishing and a new trio of windows were installed.
Outside, Kiwibuild NZ built flush decking with steps around the swimming pool and erected a large wall on the side of the external studio space to separate the property from the neighbours’.
“The various building projects in and around our home required a builder who was versatile and could come up with creative solutions on the fly. Maurice from Kiwibuild NZ fitted the role perfectly and we’ve now had him back four times to carry out work.
Maurice also worked in really well with other trades-people, which was tricky at times in the confined spaces within the bathrooms. And several times he provided added value such as suggesting we put in extra insulation in all walls.
Overall, we found Maurice very trustworthy, authentic in the time and energy spent at each stage, and extremely calm and relaxed when difficult problems cropped up. We strongly recommend Kiwibuild NZ to anyone needing any type of building work around their property.”
